New Hope Network Home Meets Need for Unique Diagnosis

Grand Rapids – Hope Network is proud to announce the opening of a second residential home for individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), on Grand Rapids’ Northwest side. This home was renovated to meet the needs of adults living with PWS, a complex genetic disorder in which individuals have a constant feeling of hunger due to a flaw in the hypothalamus in their brain. Hope Network is the only agency in Michigan with special certified residential programs serving individuals with this unique diagnosis.

PWSAM Vision:

Support:  We believe in building a support system for individuals and families affected by Prader-Willi Syndrome.  Through interaction with others, everyone's lives are improved.

Education:   We believe in educating schools, the medical profession, and other individuals who deal with people with Prader-Willi Syndrome in all aspects of the disorder to enable them to help their clients and familites.

Advocacy:   We believe in advocating for the rights of individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome at the local, state, and national level.

PWSAM is a Chapter of Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (USA).  This website is intended to supplement the PWSA USA website with information pertinent to the Michigan Chapter.

The PWSA of MI web site is intended to provide information only - not to diagnose or advocate particular treatment options. The diagnosis of Prader-Willi Syndrome should be made through a qualified medical professional. Individuals should only make decisions about treatment options in close collaboration with their own health care team of professionals. Thus, it is strongly urged that patients do not change treatment without first consulting their physicians.
The inclusion of any resource or link in the PWSA of MI Web Site does not imply endorsement.
